Progress You Can Measure (SMART Goal–Based Training)

Training is most effective when progress is clear and measurable. Sessions are structured around SMART goals — Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound — so you know exactly what you’re working towards and how progress is being tracked.

Body Composition Analysis

body fat icon_edited_edited.png
  • Muscle mass

  • Hydration levels (%) to support performance and recovery

  • BMI as a general reference marker

  • Visceral Fat -fat stored around vital organs (liver, intestines, pancreas)

  • Body Fat % (subcutaneous, fat under the skin)

  • Bone density

Progress is reviewed as part of an ongoing feedback and progression cycle, allowing training to be adjusted in line with measurable changes and long-term goals.

2-to-1 Personal Training - The Fun Factor

2-to-1 personal training is ideal for partners, friends, or family members who want to train together while still benefiting from professional structure and coaching. Sessions are designed so both individuals train at an appropriate level, even if experience, fitness, or goals differ.

This format works particularly well for couples, friends keeping each other accountable, or those who feel more comfortable starting their training journey alongside someone they know. Sessions remain focused, efficient, and goal-driven, without losing the personal attention that makes coaching effective.

Training can take place in a private studio, residential gym, at home, or outdoors, depending on what suits you best. Programmes are planned to ensure both participants stay engaged, challenged, and progressing — without one person holding the other back.

If you’re looking for shared motivation, accountability, and a more cost-effective way to train without sacrificing quality, 2-to-1 personal training offers a balanced and flexible option.

Posture Correction & Injury Prevention

You will receive a postural assessment to ensure training is appropriate for you and does not exacerbate any existing injuries or postural compensations. Following your consultation, a training strategy is developed based on your goals and assessment findings, helping reduce injury risk, improve movement quality, and build confidence for progressive, long-term training.

"my left leg is slightly longer than my right resulting in me putting 60% of my body weight on it. This had a knock on effect on my whole body especially during long runs. As a result of the posture assessment, its findings and Lon’s bespoke exercise plan. I was able to complete my training and most importantly I am delighted to have completed the Brighton Marathon"

Personal Training for Health & Wellbeing

Personal training isn’t just about how you look — it’s about how well your body functions day to day. Training for health and wellbeing focuses on building strength, improving movement, managing stress, and supporting long-term physical health through balanced exercise, sustainable habits, and preventative care.

This approach combines structured training with lifestyle awareness, helping reduce injury risk, support energy levels, and improve overall quality of life. Sessions are adapted to your current health, experience, and goals, making training accessible, realistic, and effective over the long term.

Health MOT & Preventative Training Approach

As part of a health-focused training programme, clients can access a Health MOT — designed to provide clear insight into how your body is functioning, not just how it performs in the gym.

The Health MOT may include:

  • 9-point body composition analysis

  • Blood pressure monitoring

  • Lung capacity / peak flow assessment

  • Bone density considerations

  • Postural assessment & movement screening

These indicators help identify areas that may benefit from targeted exercise, strength work, mobility training, or lifestyle adjustments. Training is then structured around improving these markers over time, allowing progress to be tracked objectively rather than relying on guesswork.

Why Choose Goal-Based Training?

Setting a specific fitness goal gives your workouts purpose — and helps you stay motivated, focused, and accountable on those hard to get out of bed days!

Accountability-Driven Consistency

Most people don’t struggle because they don’t know what to do — they struggle to get started, or to stick with it long enough to build momentum and form new habits. When consistency drops, old habits and the demands of everyday life quickly regain control. This is one of the key reasons for having a professional on your side — to provide structure, accountability, and ongoing support that helps you stay consistent until progress becomes routine.

Personal Training FAQ

Do I need to be fit before starting personal training?

No. Personal training is designed to meet you at your current level. Sessions are adapted to your experience, ability, and confidence, allowing you to progress safely and steadily without pressure.

What Is a Health MOT and How Does It Work?

A Health MOT is an initial health and wellbeing assessment designed to establish a clear starting point before committing to structured personal training. It combines body composition analysis with key health indicators such as blood pressure, lung capacity (peak flow), bone density screening, and movement observations. The results help guide training intensity, exercise selection, and lifestyle recommendations, ensuring training supports long-term health, injury prevention, and sustainable progress rather than short-term fixes.

Can personal training help with fat loss and body composition?

Yes. Personal training supports fat loss and body composition through structured training, progression, and accountability.

Do you offer nutritional guidance as part of personal training?

Yes. Nutritional guidance is a key element in achieving results. Alongside personal training, practical nutrition support is provided to support fat loss, body recomposition, muscle building, and improved performance, as well as energy levels and recovery.

How often should I train to see results?

Most clients train one to three times per week, with the average being twice per week. Results depend on their goals, lifestyle, and recovery. Consistency over time is more important than frequency alone. Initially higher frequency is beneficial for those needing more support while developing new habits.

How long will it take to start seeing results?

Most clients notice improvements in energy, strength, and confidence within the first few weeks, with visible physical changes from personal training typically becoming noticeable around the 6-week mark, depending on consistency, training frequency, and lifestyle factors.

Do you cover my area in London?

Personal training is available across London, including Battersea, Chelsea, Clapham, Canary Wharf, Beckenham, and surrounding areas. Please get in touch to confirm availability for your location.

Can you train me in my residential gym?

Usually, yes. I currently train clients in residential gyms including Chelsea Harbour, Albion Riverside in Battersea, Discovery Dock East Canary Wharf, as well as other locations across London. Get in touch and we can confirm your gym’s policy.

Do I need a gym membership to start personal training?

No. A gym membership is not required. Training can take place in private studios, residential gyms, at home, outdoors, or selected gyms, depending on what suits you best.

Is online support available alongside personal training?

Yes. In-person personal training can be combined with online coaching support via access to my fitness app, providing training guidance, check-ins, diet and lifestyle support.

How does accountability work with your coaching?

Accountability is built through clear structure, regular check-ins, and app-based support, helping you stay consistent between sessions. This approach supports long-term progress rather than stop-start routines.

Is personal training suitable for long-term maintenance, not just short-term goals?

Yes. Many clients train on a long-term basis to maintain health, excel in their sport, manage stress, support work–life balance, or meet professional demands. Training evolves over time to prioritise maintenance, resilience, and sustainability.

Is it worth getting a personal trainer?

If we use personal training with myself as an example, the effort you put in will definitely be rewarded. If you value being healthy and want to establish healthy lifestyle habits, having a personal trainer will keep on track accountable and consistent.

With regards to resistance training and sports conditioning having an experts guidance can speed up your progress and prevent you from getting injured. So yes, the many benefits of having a PT make it worth it.
